Resources that make my life easier!

Through my journey of teaching Pilates, I have discovered some tips on how to challenge the body more and how to do it in a way that won’t resurface old injuries. In the past 10 years, I have worked with many different kinds of bodies and have seen what works for people and what doesn’t.  Please use this page as a resource as you grow into this lifestyle.

Often, I get asked for advice on Reformers, props, and wellness supplements. Therefore, I have included a link to make it easier for you. As you know there are a ton of products on the market that are great. However, I only recommend items I am truly knowledgeable about. My hope is that this page is useful as you progress through your health journey. I know first hand how hard it is to sift through product pages wondering what one is best.

Please know, this page is a work in progress if there is something you would like to know more about please let me know as I would love to include it for you.

Wellness Supplements

  1. Collagen Peptide This is a great addition to coffee or just water. It has no taste but awesome benefits. The supplement that keeps you looking young as well as helps with joint-discomfort. I started taking it for both these reasons. My skin was getting too dry and flaky ultimately making me look older. Bummer! And, my Knee was flaring with stiffness and pain. Let’s just say, I am super happy to have found this supplement.
  2. Bulletproof coffee, I first tried this making it myself or at least trying to and kept cheating. I added sugar. No, Go! So I purchased the actual brand and it made my bad habits easier to change. Now I am addicted. Brain function is the main claim to fame here and after having my little guy I seriously needed my brain back.
  3. So Lean SO Clean This protein powder is hands down amazing. If you are looking for a clean protein powder, this is it! It’s filled with all organic foods. 22 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar, 2 servings of organic greens, enzymes, and fatty acids. This powder is especially great for moms. It is a vegetarian shake that tastes great. With all the food sensitivities these days, it’s a perfect fit.
  4. Oil of oregano, Ok disclaimer!! Do not take this on the regular. I use it for stomach issues and as an antibiotic. It’s super potent stuff and warning STRONG in flavour. I used the variation already mixed with a carrier oil because I did not trust myself mixing on my own. You can also purchase this oil in a Whole Foods.
  5. Enzymes, I actually went through Dr Axes Candida Cleanse and started using his enzymes. The program was absolutely amazing and I highly recommend it. Super detailed. If you want to know about it, I would be happy to write about it. Just send me a message.  As for Enzymes, I trust him so I am sticking with his since I don’t know much about other brands.
  6. Probiotics, I actually like Dr Axes Probiotics as well. Another Probiotic I have used and love is from Plexus. However, this is a Multi-Level Marketing company so if you know someone who sells it, it’s actually a great product.

At home, props to add to your workout!

  1. The Mini Ball is a great way to challenge the Abs or inner thigh for an additional kick to your Mat workout. It can be used in any method of Pilates. Barre, Mat, or Reformer. It’s awesome!
  2. A foam roller is another fabulous addition to making the mat work more intense. I love it for its ability to challenge and stretch the body. Some people use it exclusively to roll out the achy muscles. I love it for chest stretches.
  3. Yoga tune-up balls are small hard balls that help break up tension in the muscles by rolling on the pressure point. They hurt but are well worth the outcome. Perfect if you have tension headaches, low back and foot pain.
  4. Magic Circle is a classic Pilates addition. Made out of the rim of a Keg, Joseph designed this tool to teach so many aspects of keeping within the powerhouse. It’s great for arms, legs and helping form. Adding this piece to any workout will definitely be more challenging. It can be used on the Mat, the Tower, or Reformer.
  5. Stretch bands are a booty workout for sure! Love these guys for there power to make me sweat immediately. If you like the burn, these are for you!
  6. Lightweights in Pilates are used for an added challenge to the abdominals. So 2 pounds is sufficient. We also use them to challenge and believe me you do not need heavier when it comes to Pilates workouts.
  7. Spine corrector this piece is one of my favs, I do not recommend buying it unless you have worked on it before with an instructor. But if you know your body and want to give it a go, it’s perfect for side bends, leg kicks, shoulder and chest expansion. A great tool for rehab and next level Pilates.
